TIMAX® GF10 – TRANSLUCENT THERMAL INSULATION
Translucent thermal insulation for membrane roofing and skylight strips.
TIMax® GF10 is a light-diffusing insulation used in membrane roofing and skylight strips. The white translucent fiber structure partially reflects sunlight, improving the g-value (protection against overheating in summer). The material’s strong light-diffusing properties also ensure uniform, glare- and shadow-free room illumination.
Features
• U-value of 0.95 W/m²K (at 10cm thickness; calculated using standard values for internal and external heat transfer coefficients)
• Very good light diffusion
• Shadow-free, pleasant room illumination
• Very good UV and temperature stability
• Flame resistant B1 (DIN 4102-1)
AREAS OF APPLICATION
• Two-layer membrane roofing
• Skylight strips and domes
TIMAX® GF10, TRANSLUCENT THERMAL INSULATION (TTI) WITH OPTIMAL LIGHT DIFFUSION
Glass fibers are spun very thinly providing a light-stable binder and woven into a very light and translucent fiber glass matting (Glasgespinst). The air trapped in the fiber-glass wool ensures very good thermal insulation. Compared to the TIMax® CA honeycomb, this fiber-glass fleece has lower light transmission however much stronger light-diffusing properties. This results in glare-free and even distribution of light. In summer, this good solar protection reduces heat gain (low g-value).
The fiber-glass wool can be installed in one or more layers, depending on the desired u-value and light transmission. TIMax® GF10 is used in translucent structures such as skylight strips, membrane roofing, wood-frame facades, or wooden post-and-beam construction.
